The IMK-AAF operates one 8', two 12', and one 20' aerosol measurement containers which can be equipped with the following instruments:
- Expandabel mast of 10 m length, outside hood for pumps, air conditioning, LTE antenna
- Inlets: PM10, PM2.5, TSP, FEP tubes
- Meteorology: Wind, solar radiation, temperature, pressure, relative humidity, precipitation (Luft WS700/800)
- Single particle size & chemical composition: LAAPToF
- Non-refractory aerosol size & mass concentrations: HR-ToF-AMS (Aerodyne)
- Oxidized molecules in gas & particle phase: FIGAERO-CIMS (Aerodyne)
- VOC and semi-volatile particle compounds: fast GC-CHARON-PTR-MS (Ionicon, 4000, H3O+)
- VOC and semi-volatile particle compounds: CHARON-PTR-MS (Ionicon, Fusion, H3O+, NH4+)
- Trace gases: O3, CO, CO2, NO, NO2, NH3, SO2
- Particle number: >2.5 nm, >7 nm Condensation particle counters (TSI 3776 & 3022)
- Particle size: 14-860 nm (SMPS), 0.2 – 20 μm (FIDAS OPC or aerodynamic particle sizer APS)
- 3 D scanning depolarization Raman LIDAR (Raymetrics, 355 nm, 30 mJ, 20 cm mirror)
- Photoacoustic direct absorption measurement at 4 wavelength (Schnaitec)
- Black Carbon: Aethalometers AE33, AE51, MA200
- Further instruments can be added
